Asphalt and Bitumen Boiler

This mandatory standard must be applied at all construction locations

• Asphalt and Bitumen boiler use must meet the following standards:-
• LPG hoses to be steel reinforced braid type & at least 4m in length
• Pressure Regulator of no more than 2 bar fitted to cylinders.
• Placed on non-combustible insulating base
• Fitted with auto thermostat controls
• Have a close fitting lid
• Never left unattended whilst in operation
• Never tow or move whilst burner is alight
• Working cylinders to be a minimum of 3m away from pot, secured in the upright position
• Stored/spare cylinder to be stored in accordance with 'Flammable Gas Storage' Visual Standard
• Controlled under Hot Work Permit
• Fire Extinguishers must Include at least 1 Foam and 1 Dry Powder type. NEVER Water.
• Method of raising the fire alarm located adjacent to the working area
