Compressed Air Use – Whip checks
This mandatory standard must be applied at all construction locations:
- When compressed air tools are used, the following must be in place as a minimum:
- Whip checks fitted on all hose to hose, and hose to equipment connections.
- Only Q type fittings, with a standard claw coupling and safety clamp
- Minimum 200 PSI hoses to BS EN ISO 2398 and BS 5118/2 specifications
- Air lances are to be provided with isolation valve on the lance
- Where required , a current pressure vessels test certificate of air receivers be in place for the compressor
- Silenced compressors and tools
