Small Plant Spill Protection

This mandatory standard must be applied on all construction projects

• Plant nappies shall be provided for all static plant items (e.g. compressors, pumps, fuel bowsers), placed overnight or during any prolonged stationary periods.
• Spill/drip trays must not be used as they provide no protection against overfilling with rain water.
• Refuelling must be undertaken away from any watercourses, drains (foul or surface), open ground, with plant nappies and a non-spill funnel used to prevent spills
