Best Practice
Vacuum Slab Lifter
This best practice should be considered at all construction locations.
- The movement and placing of slabs on site is a manual handling risk due to their weight and size. Mechanical means should be used whenever possible.
- The vacuum slab lifter is an option which eliminates the manual handling risk associated with lifting slabs by offering a fast and reliable method for laying slabs safely.
- The lifter works by dipping the vacuum attachment in a shallow container of water then onto the slab to provide sufficient grip allowing the slab to be lifted and placed
