Mandatory - Must be applied at all locations
- Where a staircase or set of steps has 3 or more treads, a suitable handrail must be installed and ‘Hold the Handrail’ signs located immediately adjacent the top and bottom of the stairs.
- This applies to ALL forms of stairs/steps, including:
- Offices (where the stairs are within Morgan Sindall areas)
- Our site accommodation
- Stairs constructed as part of the build
- Proprietary access staircases such as Haki or for excavation access
- Steps constructed on site to provide access throughout the area
- Handrails must be 900-1000mm in height, and where a set of stairs is more the 1000mm wide, handrails must be provided on both sides.
