Excavator Bucket Change Area

Mandatory - Must be applied at all locations

• During the changing of buckets and other quick hitch attachments there is a risk that buckets could fall and injure those nearby.
• Bucket change areas are to be established at all projects where bucket changing is required, and these must be:
• segregated around all sides by physical barriers (Heras/pedestrian barriers).
• signed to identify them as a bucket change area.
• located away from pedestrian routes and areas where people are working nearby.
• The machine is not permitted to leave the bucket change area until the operator has physically checked the quick hitch is fully engaged
